The Very Hungry Caterpillar

We started by reading the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar.  Then we shared a snack, fruit loops (already had the hole in them like in the story).  Mia formed the fruit loops into the shape of a caterpillar.

Then she colored a The Very Hungry Caterpillar coloring page and did some story sequencing cards.  This was the first time she has done sequencing and got all the events in order. :)

We broke out Mia's creativity container that we made for craft time.  We keep various craft items in here ready to go for craft time so we don't have to run out to the store.

Then we got down to painting, Mia's favorite.  Kayla ate the crayons and then threw them on the floor colored.

She LOVES to paint.

She painted her fingernails. "Don't worry mommy, it will wash off, I promise."

After nap time, when the paint was dry, she added the final touches to her caterpillar.

Lastly, we made a fruit pizza using some of the fruit from the story.

Cute Caterpillar...

...Beautiful Butterflies.

Cute! That fruit pizza looks de-li-cious!

Also, can you tell me how to make my blog wider....can't figure it out! Would like my pics to be larger and the wording not take up so much space! :-)
