Georgie the elf

During this Christmas season, our elf Georgie {short for Georgina} came back to spend the holiday with our family.  Mia and Kayla were more excited for her time with us than ever before.  They just couldn't get enough of her.  They left her notes and snacks and talked to her and just loved seeing her throughout the day.  They just couldn't wait to wake up in the morning to see where Georgie was and if she had gotten into any mischief.  Some of the silly places they found her...

She colored this elf and finished coloring the whole page when we weren't looking!

This morning the girls found her taking a nap in a box of tissues!

One morning we found her having a snowball fight with the Disney princesses.

Georgie added a lot of Christmas magic for our girls this Christmas season!

On Christmas Eve the girls were surprised to get this letter.
They listened intently as Jason read it to them.

Printable Goodbye Letter from Elf on the Shelf @Amber McDaniel this is cute for holly and hailey!

As you can see on Mia's face she was very uneasy about the fact that she would be able to hold Georgie for a few minutes.  She asked us over and over "Do you think this is okay?''

Once we reassured Mia that the letter stated it would be fine for her to say goodbye to Georgie she warmed up to the idea and got excited too.

Kayla on the other hand couldn't have been more excited.  Finally, the day she had waited for had arrived.  We've always been worried that she would accidentally touch Georgie.

They just couldn't believe they were going to be able to hug Georgie goodbye.

They asked daddy to go first.

Then it was their turn.  They handled Georgie with great care.

They carefully hugged and kissed her goodbye.

And thanked her for all the fun they had together during Christmas this year.

Then it was time to put Georgie back in her spot and go to bed.

After saying goodbye to Georgie it was time for daddy to continue the tradition from when he was a little boy and read the girls "The Night Before Christmas."  Then the girls got all snug in their beds, while visions of sugar-plums danced in their head.

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."
