Sweet Sisterhood

Mia says... "Sisters Stick Together."

These two love being together.  Of course they have their squabbles over sharing, etc. but so far they are best buds... most of the time.  They follow each other around and I love listening to the conversations they have.  Kayla is always in awe of anything Mia is doing and she has to be right in on the action.  She thinks she should be able to do whatever Mia is doing.  Mia takes her role of protective big sister seriously and we have seen her multiple times shield Kayla from harm.  She loves to be the lil momma and K doesn't mind.

When Kayla wakes up the first person she calls for now is Mia.  They usually wake up at the same time, Kayla calls for Mia and Mia yells to Kayla "Mommy is coming to get me Kayla and then we'll get you, okay?"

Mia doesn't like when K cries or gets a boo boo.  She loves to hold her, take her out of her high chair, and give her her vitamins.  Mia is really patient with Kayla and if Kayla does something she shouldn't, Mia says,  "She's just a baby and she is still learning."  K will grab something from Mia and sometimes hits her if she is mad but Mia doesn't hit back, she just gets upset. Neither of the girls like when the other gets in trouble, and they rush to give each other hugs when there are tears.  They get a very concerned look on their faces when they think the other is upset.  Kayla loves when Mia is around, but not when mommy holds Mia, then K says, "No, my mommy."

Kayla's fussiest time is when Mia is not around.  If Mia is not around Kayla says "Mia school."  Kayla usually wakes up first from her nap and it is hard to keep her from knocking on Mia's door to wake her up.

Mia doesn't like it when we go somewhere without Kayla.  When people ask Mia about somewhere we went and ask if Kayla came along she replies, "Yes, we take her everywhere with us." But sometimes Kayla doesn't come along if she is too little for what we are doing and Mia tells her, "When you are bigger sweetheart you can come with us, okay?  This adventure is for the big girls."

We love watching them interact, learn and grow together.  We like to sit back and watch what they do.

We dress them alike a lot and now Mia doesn't like it if they aren't wearing the same thing but she does like when I tell her that Kayla is wearing one of her old outfits.

We know they'll be lots of bumps along the road but we'll enjoy this sweet sisterhood as long as we can!!
