Jamaica {2012}

We spent 6 days in the beginning of February in Montego Bay, Jamaica with our good friends Steve and Val.  We stayed at the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall....our favorite resort that we have visited....highly recommend!  We enjoyed a relaxing, refreshing and very fun vacation!

Some pictures of the inside of the resort... a beautiful place!

Our room... The rooms were so nice and clean.  Each room had a butler assigned to it.  The staff at this resort were so friendly, helpful, and very accomodating.  For example, you had a choice of seven different pillows to find the one right for you!?

All balconies had that relaxing swing on them.

The view from our balcony.

This is us moments after we arrived!  We soaked up every moment.

Some snapshots of the outside of the resort.  We had access to the two adjacent Iberostar resorts so we had a huge area to vacation in.  There was always something going on and something for everyone.

One of my favorite parts was the infinity pool.  It looked like it led right into the ocean.

The water was so clear and warm.  We spent a lot of time in the ocean.

This resort had an endless amount of activites going on.  Here Val and I are taking a dance class.

Jason and Steve kayaked and golfed.

We played alot of card and dice games, volleyball, water basketball, listened to some bands on the beach, did ocean aerobics, floated in the lazy river, and watched some of the resort's shows.

Coconut water and toes in the sand.

The food was delicious! Here we are at the Hibachi restaurant.

Val and I took a cooking class on the beach.  We helped make a jerk chicken dish and a seafood one.

These comfortable beds and cabanas by the pool and ocean were very relaxing and the drinks were very refreshing.

I am terrified of heights.  I am still trying to figure out how I was talked into THIS... ziplining wayyy high up in the air in the middle of the Jamaican jungle.  I was extremely nervous before we started...shaking actually.  After the first zipline I felt much more comfortable and was (amazingly) able to really enjoy the experience.  All four of us had a blast.  As we were ziplining we had views of the jungle and the ocean.  The zipline tour was two hours long and consisted of five ziplines and two straight down repels.  It was an incredible experience with an incredible view!

The weather was great.  We had two cloudy days but the other days were very warm and full of sun.  It was great to relax on the beach.

Our girls and the Andrews boys were on their own vacation with their grandparents.  Thank you so much GiGi and Bear for watching Mia and Kayla!  They had the best time and are still talking about it.  Thank you too for the detailed daily journal you left for us about your days together... we loved that.  Thanks to MumMum and PupPup for our rides to and from the airport!  We feel blessed to be able to vacation and have our kids lovingly taken care of.

We went to Margaritaville.  The water was too choppy the night we went so that yellow water slide was closed. I would have loved to try that!   You slid out into the ocean!

Our butler prepared this for Valentine's Day... our last day of vacation!

Hanging out at the lobby bar.  We enjoyed walking around all the resorts and checking out all the different bars.  We tried a lot of the restaurants too.

Relaxing in the lunch buffet area on a windy afternoon.

Thanks for a great vacation Steve and Val!

We're already looking forward to next year's trip :)
