December

What a wonderful time we had this December with our family and friends.  We enjoyed many holiday celebrations but also many simple quiet days at home together.  Many nights were spent by the fireplace listening to our favorite Christmas cd's, coloring and playing games. We found a nice balance between having plans and making no plans. We started preparing early to limit the stress and it worked.  Of course the month wasn't stress free but we managed to make it less stressful than in the past.  We crossed things off our list and simplified our month.

Some of the girl's favorites this December that we want to remember...

Mia
-favorite song was Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
-sitting on Santa's lap was not a favorite and she skipped that this year
-making homemade gifts and writing her own cards
-making our ornaments
-looking for Georgie first thing every morning and asking many questions about her
-her video message from Santa
-learning how to wrap a present
-the lights at Longwood Gardens
-writing her letter to Santa
-playing with all her cousins
-making her own Christmas crafts and helping with mine
-shopping for the perfect gift for Kayla and then wrapping it
-making sure we were on track with our advent calendars
-baking cookies
-painting canvases as gifts

Kayla
-favorite song was Jingle Bells (she still asks to listen to it)
-she went to visit Santa (but only if Alicia would hold her)
-she loved looking at the lights as we drove around
-GiGi and Bear's dancing Santa
-dancing to her favorite Christmas cd
-decorating cookies
-pointing out Santa and Frosty everywhere we went
-saying "I don't like Santa"
-learning new Christmas songs
-turning on the tree lights
-playing with all her cousins
-admiring and moving the ornaments
-walking around with the Christmas cards we received and carrying them around in her purse
-saying "oh my gosh" when opening her gifts
