Mia and Kayla love trying to find birds when they are outside. When I saw this bird feeder activity I knew it would be a good one for them.
We read a book about animal homes and care, and then made a bird's nest snack with some cereal and grapes for eggs.
The girls shared their snack and looked outside for birds.
Then we made two bird feeders. It was a little sticky but very simple...just two empty toliet paper rolls, some peanut butter and bird seed.
We hung the bird feeders out front and waited and waited and waited. Every day Mia would stand outside our front window and wait for the birds. For an entire week she only saw one bird and none of us saw any! But the next time we went outside after that sighting every piece of bird seed and all the peanut butter was gone! Daddy thinks it might have been the rain but us girls believe the birds enjoyed their snack :)
