21 months

Kalya was not into a mini photo shoot for her 21 month old pictures.

I know she is really mad when she takes her bow out and throws it at me.

After a few minutes I decided to give up.  But before I did I tried one last photo taking trick.  One that is not a setting on your camera.

I tickled her neck with my left hand and stuck the camera out in her direction with my right hand and shot away.

Most of the shots came out with her only half in them...

 

But I mananged to capture some of her scrunchy face smiles that we love oh so much.

21 things about you at 21 months...

1 {To Kayla From Mia} "I like when you play games with us.  Ummm... hmmm... let me think.  I like when you share my ball with me.  I like when you talk a little bit more.  I like when you sing.  I like when you gives hugs and kisses to me when I leave for a date with daddy.  I love holding you everyday. I like when you share my toys.  One more left...I like when I get to take you out of your high chair."
2 You like to pretend to go shopping at home with your purse, cell phone, and shopping cart.   When we take you shopping for real you only want to run around the store and take things off the shelves.
3 You sing us your favorite song all day long...It goes like this..."Up above the world so high, Now I know my abc's next time won't you sing with me."  You sing some lyrics and hum along to lots of songs now.
4 You love to play with baby dolls, balls, dance, play with the dollhouse, and play kitchen and tea party.
5 Your new outside love is the sliding board on your swingset.  You can go up the steps yourself and laugh with delight each time you slide down.  Mia catches you at the bottom.  You do this over and over again.  You also love sidewalk chalk (and you don't eat it anymore...yeah!), painting the sidewalk with water, and riding bikes.
6 You love to do whatever Mia is doing.  One of your fussiest times of the day is when you wake up from your nap and Mia is still sleeping.  You call for her and go to her door to try to get her to wake up.  Nothing I do with you is as fun as playing with your big sister.  Neither of you are big fans of being separated from each other.
7 You really love to read books.  You especially like board books. Your favorites are about animals.  You like to make animal sounds.  Our favorite is your bear growl...you also show us your bear stance... it is not very scary.
8  You love technology.
9 You wear all of our shoes and still love shoes alot... we don't see this ending anytime soon.   Your mom is 32 years old and her love is stilll stong :)
10 You have been sleeping better now.  You sleep through the night a few times a week.  You take one good nap everyday.  You also like to sleep in.
11 You don't like when Mia cries or has a meltdown.  You go over and give her a hug and sit with her until she is happy again.  You are a dedicated little sis because sometimes this takes a while.  Similarly, Mia does not like when you are not happy and will take it upon herself to keep you happy and content all day.  Mia will also give us hints on how to keep you happy.  She talks to you like a little momma in her best baby voice.  She is very patient with you...until you take her favorite toys and run off with them. 
12 We signed you up for a mommy and me class starting in the fall at the same preschool as Mia.  We think you will love it since you run into Mia's classroom when we go to pick her up.
13  You love to eat.  You try new things and eat just about everything we give you.  We are amazed at the amount and variety of food you eat.  We hope this continues.  We hope some of your eating habits rub off on your sister one of these days.
14  You like to play chase, hide and seek, dress up, and peek a boo.  You also like to do puzzles, paint, play with stickers and color.
15 You are scared of dogs, dinosaur books, hair dryers, and vacuum cleaners.
16 You love your binkies...especially when you are tired or cranky.  We don't think you are going to be happy when the binky fairy makes a visit.
17 You love to give hugs and kisses.  You are still a cuddle bug and love to be held and rocked.
18 You continue to be busy and adventurous and you keep us on our toes. Our tippy toes.  We can't even imagine some of the stuff you find youself into.  It is not easy to get much done when you are around, and I think that is the way you like it.  One of your favorite activities is undoing chores...some of your favorites are taking all the wipes or tissues out of the box, emptying a laundry basket full of folded clothes, dumping baskets of toys all over the house and spilling snacks into every room of the house.  What is cute is that you also pretend and try to clean up your messes.
19  You understand directions and are saying sooo many new words.  You get frustrated when we don't understand what you are trying to say.  Mia translates for us.
20 Not a day goes by when your daddy doesn't say outloud how cute he thinks you are.  One of the words you say the most is "daddy".

21  In just a few short months you will be 2 years old.  We look forward to celebrating with you then and we celebrate you and the joy you bring us everyday.
